Don’t just Hunt…Have Dominion!!!

A cool Bible verse I really like!

Genesis 27:3 Now then, get your weapons—your quiver and bow—and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.

We are made in God’s Image (above the animals) because of this God told us to
have "Dominion" over the animals which means to have “Rule with Responsibility”

Genesis 1:26-28

26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."

Adam and Eve were originally vegetarians

Genesis 1:29

29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

God killed the first animal to make clothes for Adam and Eve
before casting them out of the garden of Eden for disobeying Him.
Genesis 3:21-24

21 The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.

22 And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever."

23 So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.

24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

Animals fear man because God gave us permission to eat them!
Genesis 9:2-3
2 The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands.
3 Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

God expects us to eat what we kill!

Proverbs 12:27

27 The lazy man does not roast his game, but the diligent man prizes his possessions.

Rise, Kill and Eat! In the Old Testament God gave the Jews very strict dietary laws. In Acts 10:9-15 He is telling us that all animals should now be considered “clean” to eat. It was also an illustration to let Peter know it was ok for him to witness to Gentiles (non-Jews)

Acts 10:9-15
9 About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray.
10 He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance.
11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners.
12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air.
13 Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."
14 "Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."
15 The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."
16 This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.
